Typeface

F G H
6 7 8

For my digital font, I will try using FontStruct. If I can't get the font just right, then I will go back and use photoshop to design the right font. For my handwritten design. I will just write down the letters and see where that takes me, I like to just start doing something and then it magically pulls itself together. I don't know what I'm going to make with the sculptural typeface yet.

Helvetica

I just finished watching the movie, Helvetica. I thought it was an interesting clip. They interviewed a lot of graphic designers or typers and asked them questions about their work or about the font type "Helvetica". It was intriguing to hear their responses and hear what they have to say about all the different types of fonts. Some of these men and women get so into their work and get so worked up about a font! They get so excited by their job and it interests them so much!

I thought this was awesome because this is their job and this is what they are going to be doing and it affects society so much and they are so into it! It's great that we have people like them to make the world a bit more creative and exciting. If we didn't have any of these people, everything would just be bland and not exciting. Billboards wouldn't be as creative, advertisements wouldn't be as funny or exciting.

Almost all of the people that were interviewed said that Helvetica was like a main font. We see it almost everywhere. It came out in the late 1900's and everyone started using it. They could use this font for nearly everything and didn't need to change their fonts all the time. They talked about the spacing in between the letters and how the area in between just holds the words together and that's why this font is the best. Each graphic designer or typer had a different reason for why they thought this was a great font.
